The Making Process

Memory Days: Each personalised item we make is custom-crafted to record meaningful milestones and special times spent with close friends and family. From celebrating new beginnings at a Christening or Wedding, to honouring a lifetime of dedication at a Retirement or respectfully commemorating the passing of a beloved family member or dear friend.

No live oak are trees are felled: At Celtic Engravings, we believe in protecting the environment. No live trees are felled to make any of the items we create. We source only select, high quality repurposed oak and wood from naturally fallen oak trees to craft our engraved memory pieces.

Hand Picked: Each piece of oak is hand-picked, selected and carefully machined in our own fully equipped workshop. Your chosen engraving is then professionally etched onto the oak wood. From here each engraved piece is gently sanded and taken to our spray room, where we apply a high quality spray seal and lacquer finish. This is a permanent finish, that enhances the grain of the oak, protects it from harm and requires no future refinishing, just clean with a gentle wipe using a warm, damp cloth when needed.

Select 12: We have assembled a collection of twelve unique engraved designs that represent twelve special family memory day's. From these you can select the engraving that resonates most with the occasion and the person you are honouring.

To complete your 'Select 12' memento: Whether your chosen piece is going to be a precious reminder for your home or workplace or given as a loving gift to someone close to your heart, we can make it truly personal to you.

We can engrave the "name of the person" you want to honour along side our original Select 12 design, we can also add a short description of "their special connection to you" (e.g. husband, grandma, friend). To complete the engraving, we can add the "specific date" you want to be remembered.

Bespoke Engravings: Of course with the worlds rich diversity of backgrounds and cultures, there are many other special days in a families life. We will be delighted to work alongside you to construct a bespoke engraving design that records other milestone days. Special days that you, a family member or a close friend holds dear.
